As part of my campaign to make adults more playful I’ve been rolling out a game called ‘Scrapstore Challenge.’ This week I got to take the game to Bristol’s very own Children’s Scrapstore. I placed adverts online and invited adults to come and join one of the two sessions for free.
Here’s a look at what happened:
Friday 13th November 2015
Our morning players arrived and were asked to create a ball launcher with a mysterious style.
The players were then let loose in the Scrapstore:
While the judges watched closely
The red team created this:
Which turned into this:
While the blue team did this:
Which ended up looking like this:
The creations were put to the test and scored on their ability, as well as their visual design.
In the second challenge the teams were asked to create a barrier to protect their ball launcher, it had to have a science theme.
The teams then went into battle, trying to hit their opponents ball launcher.
It was a close call, but the red team won as the barrier managed to keep out more balls and their ball launcher was more effective at infiltrating the blue teams barrier.
